* - “What if I only do 5.1 channel surround projects?” While the idea of 12 Channel surround might be confusing it’s actually very easy. All 12 channels are individual tracks that are clearly labeled for correct placement. You just load them into your mix where you want them to go. You can also add extra “depth of perspective” to your 5.1 mix by adding some or all of the extra tracks (sides and centers). Then you simply adjust the pan control of each channel to the position of the sound. And if you decide in the future to expand into other avenues of surround production (6.1, 7.1 or IMAX) your QAM sounds will be useable in any of those surround formats you chose.
